Shirley Jane Molitor, 84, of Bennington, was called home to our Lord on September 8, 2026, at Wyoming County Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born on February 5, 1942, in Fredrick, Maryland, the daughter of the late Erven and Elsie (Alfred) Butt, and wife of the late Gerald "Papa" Molitor.
Shirley was a beautiful and charismatic woman who had a special way of making everyone feel welcome. To Shirley, no one was ever a stranger, and she made a point of keeping in touch with the many people she loved throughout her life. Shirley lived her life in service to many people at the end of their life; she had a special nature that made Hospice work a perfect fit for her. https She shared many happy years with her husband until his passing in September 2017. In her later years, Shirley moved in with her grandson, Nicholas, where she enjoyed being surrounded by her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her great-grandchildren, cooking for her family, and simply enjoying the moments they shared together. Shirley also found peace and happiness in listening to old country and bluegrass music, tending her flower garden, and in caring for her houseplants. She even took great pleasure in tending to the weeds around the house with her trusty weed whacker. Above all, Shirley will be remembered for her loving heart, her warm personality, and the joy she found in being with the people she loved most.
Shirley is survived by her sister, Elnora (William " Bill") Claudell daughter, Joyceann (Ken) Clements; grandchildren, Nicholas (Julia) Fimbel and Josh (Megan) Clements; and 5 great-grandchildren, Brooke, Jaina, Scarlett, Logan, and Jack.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Marley Funeral Home. Services will be private. Shirley will be laid to rest next to her husband, Gerald, at Acadia Park Cemetery, Tonawanda.
