Roger Edward Bartz

It is with much sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Roger E. Bartz, on September 1, 2026, at the age of 77, with his family close by. He was at Erie County Medical Center, fighting various types of cancer over the years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Catherine (Schmidt) Bartz. Also surviving are his children, Eric (Dawn) Bartz, Kevin (Holly) Bartz, and Lisa (Jeremy) Barron; grandchildren, Amber, Michael Bartz, and Rriana, Tristan Barron; great granddaughter, Starlynn Bartz; sisters, Joyce Griffen, Gloria George, and Lois (Michael) Foss; sisters-in-law, Judy and Debra Bartz; brother-in-law, Thomas Schmidt; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was born to the late Leo and Rosaline (Schwab) Bartz on June 27, 1949. Roger is also predeceased by his brothers, Melvin and Alan Bartz; brothers-in-law, Terrance Griffen and Donald Schmidt; sister-in-law, Barbara (Ciszak) Schmidt; niece, Pamela (George) Roth, and her infant daughter, Nevaeh.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Marley Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Attica, NY. As requested by Roger, there will be no calling hours or Celebration of life.
