Bennington - Patricia Ann "Stella" Zymowski, 96 of Bennington, passed away on Tuesday (June 9, 2026) at Wyoming County Community Hospital following a brief illness.
Patricia was born March 20, 1930 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late James Patrick and Mabel Bernardine (Gibney) King.
Stella was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church in Bennington and St. Vincent's Church in Attica. She enjoyed feeding the birds and keeping an eye on the neighborhood.
Surviving are her children, Victoria (Glenn) Barber, Chester (Lora) Zymowski, Jr, Patrick Zymowski all of Bennington, Alby (Isabel) Zymowski of Orlando, Florida, Kevin Zymowski of Bennington, Mary Jo (Don) Colligan of Newstead, and Stephen Zymowski of Bennington; her "adopted son", Charlie (Linda) Heintz of Cowlesville; grandchildren, Darcy (Nick Gautieri) Barber, Rebecca (Reid) Ricketson, Jamie Zymowski, Wendy (Ron) Cattarin, Brandon (Macy) Zymowski, Kelly (Jim) Ano, Shannon and Johnny Colligan, Amber (Cody Shearer) Zymowski, and Michael Seleska; great-grandchildren, Phillip, Lillian, Eva, Patty, Alexis, Olivia, Gianna, April Mae, Avery, Evelyn, and Jackson; her brother, Jack (Fran) King of Attica. Several nieces and nephews along with her beloved cat, Lester also survive.
Stella is preceded in death by her husband, Chester John Zymowski, Sr.; brothers, Bernard and Jimmy King; sister, Donna (late Richard) Trzaska.
Honoring Stella's wishes, there will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday (June 12, 2026) at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Neumann Parish - St. Vincent's Worship Site, 50 East Avenue in Attica. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Bennington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Bennington Volunteer Fire Department, 1353 Clinton Street, Attica, New York 14011 or Wyoming County SPCA, 808 Creek Road, Attica, New York 14011.
