Melvin Winkelmam

Melvin H. Winkelman, of Attica, passed away on March 3, 2026 at Brothers of Mercy Nursing Home, Clarence.

He was born on August 20, 1936, in Buffalo. a son of the late Elmer and Elizabeth (Koetsinger) Winkelman, and husband of the late JoAnn (archangel) Winkelman.

He was a proud lifetime member of Plumbers Local 22, dedicating decades of hard work and craftsmanship to his trade before his well-earned retirement. He took great pride in the brotherhood he shared there and the life he built through his hands.

An avid motorcyclist and devoted classic car enthusiast, he had a special love for Fords and could often be found talking shop with fellow members of the Ford Lords Club. Whether it was the rumble of an engine or the shine of chrome, he appreciated the beauty and power of a well-kept machine.

At home, he found peace in landscaping his yard, carefully tending to it and taking satisfaction in a job well done. But above all else, his greatest joy was his family. He cherished every moment spent together and especially treasured the love he shared with his beloved wife, JoAnn, who was truly the center of his world.

Melvin is survived by his children, Terry (Michael) Schmieder of Attica and Gerald (Brandi) Winkelman of PA; grandchildren, Chad Winkelman of attica, Taylor (Abbie) Winkelman of FL, and Devon Winkelman of PA; great grandchildren, Ava Winkelman, Roman Winkelman, Laney Winkelman, and Sonny Winkelman.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Marley Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Attica. Melvin will be laid to rest next to his wife, JoAnn, at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
