Attica - Katherine L. Maksymik, 50 of Attica, passed away unexpectedly on Monday (April 20, 2026) at her home in Attica.

Katherine was born July 3, 1975 in Buffalo, a daughter of Denise (Merlyn) Bissell of Bennington and the late Timothy Maksymik.

Known as Katie to her family and friends, she was witty, had an excellent sense of humor and was a very generous giver of tchotchkes. Katie lived with profound heartbreak after Dominic died but she found strength and peace in her faith in Jesus. She served God and others through volunteer work. Wearing her heart on her sleeve, her empathy and compassion was evident in everything she said and did.

She will be forever loved and greatly missed.

In addition to her mother and step-father, Katherine is survived by her siblings, T. Joshua (Michelle) Maksymik of Larkspur, Colorado, Jonathan (Roxanne) Maksymik of Varysburg, and Hannah (Michael Koch) Maksymik of Attica; nephews, Elliott and Miles Maksymik.

Katherine is reunited in death with her father and son, Dominic Maksymik.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday (April 28, 2026) from 4 to 6:00 p.m. at Marley Funeral Home, 135 Main Street in Attica, where Katherine's memorial service will immediately follow visitation at 6:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest beside her son and father, privately in Forest Hill Cemetery in Attica.
