Darien - Julia Ann Ohlson, 89 of Darien passed away on Friday (April 10, 2026) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.
Julia was born October 27, 1936 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Julius Jesse and Alberta Winifred (Clements) Gendron.
Julia met her challenges with a smile and grace. Her family was her world, but her grandchildren were her universe. She was very artistic, always working on different projects, crocheting, painting, sewing, gardening or coloring. She loved her pets, feeding hummingbirds and her neighbor and friend Dave. Julia blossomed while living at Genesee Senior Living. She loved her friends, sharing coloring pictures and the attentive and loving care she received.
Survivng are her children, Robert (Patricia) Ohlson of Texas, Timothy (Diane) Ohlson of Darien Center, Dawn (Victor) Albano of Bennington, Scott (Sandra) Ohlson of East Bethany, and Cheryl (Jim) Yerger of Byron; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Ohlson of Oakfield. 22 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren also survive.
Julia is reunited in death with her parents; a son, Ronald Ohlson; grandchildren, Jennifer, Chad, and Brad Ohlson; great-grandchild, Riley Ohlson; siblings, John "Jack" (late Dottie) Gendron, Glen (late Jim) Seeley, Louise (late Art) Hayday, and Betty (late Marve) Ohlson.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 5 to 7:00 p.m. at Marley Funeral Home, 135 Main Street in Attica, where Julia's funeral service will immediately follow visitation. Burial will be 11:00 Friday morning at St. Vincent's Cemetery in Attica. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Genesee Senior Living - Activities Fund.
