Joanne B. Almeter

Mrs. Joanne B. Almeter, 2077 Perry Road, North Java. Passed away on March 5, 2026.

She was the wife of William C. Almeter, who died in 1969, and mother of Colleen Almeter who died in 1995.

Surviving are her daughter, Michele (Randal) Ferrino of Orchard Park, two sons, Patrick J. and Shawn (Connie) Almeter of Varysburg, and her two favorite grandsons, Matthew and Taylor Ferrino.

Joanne was born in October of 1935 in North Java. The daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Sauer) Mc Cormick.

Joanne was a bookkeeper and Medicaid Service Coordinator, and also a Case Manager at the Epileptic Association of Greater Rochester until her retirement. She was a past director of the 8th Judicial District of the 8 counties of the NYS Federation of Republican Women, member of the Town of Java Republican Committee, member of the Office for Aging Board, and former member of the Board of Managers for the Wyoming County Communuty Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Holy Family Parish Polish National Catholic Church, 4316 NY-98, North Java, NY. There will be a private burial where Joanne will be laid with William and Colleen in St. Nicholas Cemetery, North Java.
