Bennington - Ellen L. Stringham, 80 of Bennington, passed on to the big card game in the Heavens early Friday, May 22, 2026; where she is reunited with her late husband, Paul Stringham.

Ellen was born November 10, 1945, the daughter of the late Walter and Barbara Solly.

She retired from the NYS Department of Corrections; before that she worked at P.W. Minor in Batavia and Mallory Timers in Warsaw. Ellen was an avid card player, traveling many miles to play Euchre and finding time to play her regular Skat and Shoot the Moon games. Always on the go, she spent many days at the cabin and fishing at the pond. In her younger years, she enjoyed snowmobiling, atv-ing, and deer season.

Ellen is survived by her sons, David (Debra) Best of Bennington, and Kevin Stringham of Attica; step-children, Beth Stringham (William Sheperd), Frederick Stringham, Paula Jo Carney, Brenda (Chuck) Scotchmer; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday (May 30, 2026) from 11 to 2:00 p.m. at the Marley Funeral Home, 135 Main Street in Attica. Ellen's funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Summit View Cemetery in Bennington will be private.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials in Ellen's name are suggested to either Bennington Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad or the Harder-O'Donnell Post American Legion - Ladies' Auxiliary.
