Obituary

Blasdell - Christopher Paul Witka, 70 of Blasdell, passed away unexpectedly on Monday (May 11, 2026) at his home.

Mr. Witka was born August 2, 1955 in Buffalo, a son of the late Christopher and Dorothy (Abplanalp) Witka.

Christopher was a Marine Corps veteran who was known for his quick wit, intelligence, and easygoing personality. He was a friend to everyone he met, loved to have fun, and had a natural charisma that drew people to him. Chris also had a special place in his heart for his cat, Peanut.

Surviving are his daughters, Renee (Jessie) Hamill of Warsaw and Danielle (Wesley) Burgess of Attica; grandchildren, Erik and Summer Beitz, Levi and Will Burgess; great-granddaughters, Meadow and Willow; siblings, Thomas Witka of Eden, Diane (Michael) Pitzler of Tumwater, Washington, and Barbara (Tom) Newberry of San Tan Valley, Arizona; brother-in-law, George Lardo of Eden, along with several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Christopher is reunited in death with his sister, Patricia Lardo; brother, Michael Witka; and long time companion, Pam.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside ceremony on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in Western New York National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Road in Pembroke (Please assemble at the Administration Building by 9:45 a.m.). In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Erie County SPCA.
