Beverly J. "Stub" Shaw, age 94, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026 under the care of HomeCare & Hospice.
She was born on August 6, 1931 in Attica Center, daughter of the late Lester and Carol Nichols Gephart.
She served as Postmaster of Varysburg for 28 years, where she was known for her dedication to the community and the many friendships she formed throughout her career. In addition to her work with the Postal Service, she drove school buses for both Attica Bus Service and Becker Bus.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Attica and was actively involved in several organizations, including the Order of the Eastern Star, Amaranth, and the Auxiliary of the American Legion, Harder O'Donnell Post No. 734. She found joy in creating ceramics, taking trips to the casino, and feeding the ducks. While living in Varysburg, she took great pride in maintaining her lawn and could often be found tending to it with care.
She is survived by her children, Mary Berry of South Carolina, Martha (Michael) Lambert of Darien Center, Mark (Dawn) Shaw of Attica and Michael (Amy) Shaw of Alexander; nine grandchildren, Wendy (Keith) Christopher, Bradley (Erica) Humphrey, Jamie (Mollie) Harloff, Jessica (Bruce Walton) Berggren, Jason (Jonni) Harloff, Sara Lambert, Amanda (Matt Bradley) Shaw, Jackie (Brian) Wheeler and Justin Shaw; nineteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her siblings, William Gephart, Virginia Joy, Doris Sonricker, Lester Gephart and Patricia Sonricker.
Friends may call on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at The First Baptist Church of Attica, 3 Prospect Street where funeral services will immediately follow at 11 am.
