Robert E. Meyers

Robert E. Meyers, 58, of Attica passed away Thursday July 2, 2015) at Wyoming County Community Hospital, after bravely fighting cancer, with his loving wife, Dawn M. (Wilson) Meyers by his side. He was born August 16, 1956, in Buffalo, New York to the late Roxie G. (Elaine R. Visseau) Meyers. He was predeceased by his sister, Lynn M. Roshia, on July 5, 2004.

Mr. Meyers graduated from Bolivar High School. He attended Paul Smith’s College in New York. He proudly served as a Correction Officer for the State of New York for 27 years, and worked at the Wyoming County Correctional Facility. He retired on June 25, 2015. Mr. Meyers was a member of the National Rifle Association, and a damn good shot for a country boy.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years Dawn M. (Wilson) Meyers; sons, Cody M. Meyers of Buffalo and Gordon J. Meyers of Cheektowaga.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday July 9, 2015 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Marley Funeral Home 135 Main Street Attica, New York 14011. An 11:00 AM Memorial Service will be held Friday July 10, 2015 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery, Attcia.
