Phyllis B. Minihan

January 31, 1930 — May 25, 2021

Phyllis Minihan, passed away May 25, 2021 in the peaceful surroundings of her home with family and beloved four legged companion, Bandit. She was born on January 31, 1930 in Alexander the daughter of Lyle and Etta Kidder Brown. She was predeceased by her husband Francis Minihan, brother Douglas Brown, and son David Kelsey.

Phyllis worked as a hairdresser, food service manager, and was a dedicated volunteer in the 1960’s and 70’s as she helped make the Alexander Firemen’s Recreation Hall catering a successful venture. After leaving the area in the mid 70’s to work in Hornell, NY and Scranton, PA in the food service industry; she returned to Alexander to live in the “Kidder Homestead”. She loved her farmhouse making sure it stayed in the family for the 6th generation and lived her last hours at home.

She is survived by her Brother Charles (Kay) Brown of Alexander, son Thomas (Julie) of Attica, daughter in law Betsey Kelsey of Alexander, grandchildren Daniel, Brian, Stacey, Todd Kelsey and Molly Haungs. Eight great grandchildren. Step children Gemma Minihan of Tonawanda, Lisa (John) Aprea of Lake Placid, FL, and Joseph Minihan of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. and step grandchildren Hunter, Dalton, and Trevor Rarick and Shelby Nykiel. Nieces and nephews and many dedicated friends.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 4 to 7 PM at Marley Funeral Home, LLC, 135 Main Street, Attica, NY 14011. An 11:00 AM Celebration of her Life will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Holy Family Parish, 4316 NY-98, North Java, NY 14113. She will be laid to rest in Alexander Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Genesee County Office of the Aging, 2 Bank St., Batavia, NY 14020 or to Alexander Fire Department, PO Box 336, Alexander, NY 14005.
