James M. Durkee

James M. Durkee, 73, of Attica passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2017 with his loving wife by his side. He was born on March 27, 1944 in Buffalo to the late Ray and Emily (Stroka) Durkee.

Jim loved to do wood work, especially crafting the clocks that lined the walls of their home where he spent most of his time. If he wasn’t working, he was at home. Jim was a retired NYS Corrections Officer at Attica Prison and a Wyoming County Sheriff where he made the rank of Sergeant, and was also a part time Police Officer with the Attica Police Dept. Jim served his country with the United States Army from 1961-1964.

He is survived by his loving wife for 47 years; Beulah (Colton) Durkee of Attica; daughter Debra Marie (Stephen) Kelly of Galloway, Ireland; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday May 18, 2017 from 3:00-7:00PM at Marley Funeral Home, LLC. 135 Main Street Attica, New York 14011. A 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday the 19th at St. Joachim & Anne Parish 50 East Ave. Attica, NY 14011. Interment will be held privately for the family.
