Henry J. Kelver

December 17, 1925 — June 30, 2018

Henry J. Kelver was born December 17, 1925 at home in Sheldon, NY to the late Henry C. (Eva Harbaugh) Kelver. He passed away June 30, 2018 in Warsaw. Henry was preceded in death by sisters Betty Gardner and Marjorie Weaver.

He was raised in Sheldon to a farming family and was eager to take over the 4th generation of the Kelver Dairy Farm where he and his wife Norma raised 5 boys. They Celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last summer.

Henry was a lifetime member of the St. John’s UCC. As a younger man he was active in 4H and the church youth group. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Masons. Henry was a board member of Buffalo Milk Coop and Frontier Federated Milk Coop. He was also past President of Upstate Milk Coop and member of the Milk for Health Committee. Near his retirement from the Dairy Farm he drove a milk truck and then went on to drive a school bus for handicapped children (he did LOVE to drive!!).

Henry was quite the character. If you knew him, you laughed with him. Never at a loss for a joke or trick, he got ALL in his circle at one time or another with a gag. Henry and Norma have had a very large, very long time group of friends in NY and many in Houston, TX where they were snowbirds for years. He will be missed by so many. Henry lived large, had fun, left his mark!

He is survived by his beloved wife Norma (Geer) Kelver of Strykersville; sons Richard (Esther) of Buffalo; David (Sandy) of Buffalo; Paul (Lenore) of Spring, TX; Robert (Cindy) of Strykersville; Scott (Tammy) Kelver of Spring, TX; sister Viola Koch of North Tonawanda; 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
