Douglas W. Johnston, 63 of Attica, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at his home. Doug was born on July 25, 1958, in Batavia, NY to the late Robert C. Johnston of Batavia and Hazel (Baubie) Johnston of Oakfield. He is also preceded in death by a stepsister; Sheila (Worthington) Morse of Alexander.

He graduated from Batavia High School. Doug was a contractor working in various fields throughout his lifetime. He was an avid woodworker and landscaper.

Doug is survived by his wife, Katherine (Muniak) Johnston, his children Eric D. Johnston, Anthony R. Johnston and Kassandra R. (John) Naples, and his stepmother Nancy (Charles) Slaven. He is also survived by brothers Robert K. (Judy) Johnston of Rochester, Charles (LeAnne) Johnston of Mumford, David (Dawn) Johnston of Batavia, Steven (Cyndi) Johnston of Jacksonville, Florida, Daniel (Leslie) Johnston of Stafford and Scott (Margaux) Johnston of Oakfield; sisters Sherryl (Greg) Shultz of Bethany, Sandra (Rick) Kosciolek of Batavia, and Pamela (Rance) Choate of Attica. Stepbrothers Dale (Cathy) Worthington of Byron, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Worthington of Batavia, James (Debbie) Worthington of Pavilion, Steven (Carla) Earle of Lyndonville, Jason (Shannon) Earle of Ohio. Stepsisters Gloria (Roger) Smith of Batavia, Dawn (Wilbur) Gray of Batavia, Brenda (James) Alvut of Batavia, Lisa (Thomas) Pattridge of East Pembroke, Yvonne Ortiz of Irondequoit, Patricia Bootes of Rochester and Sheila Colombo of Tennessee. Sister-in-law Ann Taylor, brothers in law Gene Muniak and Ken (Penny) Muniak and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00AM Friday December 31, 2021 at the Alexander Fireman’s Rec. Hall 10708 Alexander Rd. Attica, NY 14011. A luncheon will follow.
