Albert Fred Mcvay

April 22, 1931 — January 16, 2017

Albert Fred McVay, 85, of Alexander passed away peacefully on Monday January 16, 2017 at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. He was born on April 22, 1931 in Warsaw to the late Merle and Laura (Gould) McVay. He is preceded in death by his sons Lloyd A. McVay, and Dennis L. McVay; siblings Kenneth (Mary) McVay, Leslie McVay, Alfred McVay, Richard (Corrine) Dunham and Arloween (Robert) Johnson.

Albert served with the United States Marine Corps as a Radio Operator in Korea. He worked at Sylvania in Batavia, the Batavia School District, and doing work for many other people. He was a member of the Attica First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Trustee and also served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher at the West Bethany Baptist Church. Albert was a member of the Adventures of Attica First Baptist Church, The Marine Corps League, West Bethany Cemetery Association, and the Alexander Happy Agers.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years Ruth (Alwardt) McVay of Alexander; his children Denise McVay of Attica, Wendy (David) Parker of Venice, FL., Bernie McVay of Batavia, Sandra (Todd) Schrauger of Jacksonville, FL., Duane (Vickie) McVay of Oakfield; sister in law Millie McVay of East Pembroke; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends are invited to call on Friday January 20, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Marley Funeral Home, LLC. 135 Main Street Attica, New York 14011. An 11:00AM Funeral Service will be held on Saturday the 21st at the Attica First Baptist Church 3 Prospect St. in Attica. He will be laid to rest in the West Bethany Cemetery.
